Confused About Which Blue Medicare Plan is Best for Me

I am sort of confused about what I should do when I need to switch from my company provided health insurance over to a Medicare Advantage plan. There are so many acronym and different code words, for instance my wife says I need a blue medicare regional ppo. That would Blue Cross Florida I guess and PPO stands for preferred provider organization or participating provider organization. I have not really finished my research, but it does seem as though this is probably what I need. I am right in the middle of Florida, so I should have no trouble finding participating health care providers and I am pretty near certain that our family doctor is going to be covered. I am not so certain about the local medical center, which is far more convenient than driving into Orlando for me. I am confused about how I get from here to there however.

I understand that a Medigap plan might be needed to cover things that my other plan might not cover. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…

Taking Care of Your Body

With the election heading closer every day we are now knee-deep in rhetoric regarding insurance, health, savings and the like. We only have one live to live and it becomes more and more important to take care of ourselves and there are plenty of programs that can help us do this and every state has something different, like florida blue medicare. Programs such as this can help you locate and identify provider organizations with a medicare’s coverage field. This can be extremely helpful if you are in a low-income bracket whether you’re single or in a family. It can be difficult to track down such a program, as it takes a lot of research and searching and going to government offices which can be a time consuming affair but ask yourself; is your health and or the health of your family worth anything less?

That’s how it started with me. I’m a single guy and the down turn of the economy really hit me hard. I didn’t have an investment to fall back on or much of a savings account, nobody had ever showed me how to correctly build myself a safety net. So I was left in the dark, literally at times, and with a failing health. Whether it was from stress or some other factor, it didn’t matter, as I didn’t have insurance to be able to help me until a friend introduced me to medicare ppo’s. I was lucky to have a friend to introduce me to this and I was able to afford the help that I needed. My health is the only thing that I can truly value as mine, as it is a part of who I am, and to be able to move forward in this life I need to be healthy and happy.

Finding Health Insurance for Just a Five Year Old Boy

To be perfectly honest, I am more than a little confused after trying to find health insurance for children only. My wife and I have become the guardian to one of her cousin’s child. He is a really sweet five year old boy and we absolutely adore him, but it has proven problematic for us to find health insurance for him. I understand that there are provisions in the Affordable Care act (also known as ObamaCare) which has made some of the major providers stop offering these sorts of policies. Based on my understanding it is because they do not want to be forced to offer coverage to kids who are already sick with serious diseases or life threatening conditions.
